What would I do without my I-Pod?

Even though today was a short ride I took my I-Pod along to help pass the time and more importantly tune out some of the crazies out on the road... While I'll usually get annoyed as the crazies get more and more hostile as the ride goes on, today I found it more entertaining... It was like being in my own interactive music video... The climax of the whole thing was some lady in her beater minivan driving head on swerving into my lane to stick her head out the window (with hair curlers still in the hair) to yell obsenities at me... now normally, I would put my hand up in digust... but I had The Vines blasting Get Free in my ear, and at the same moment this lady stuck her head out the window and opened her mouth nice and wide I had reached the chorus of this song where Craig Nicholls screams "Get Free" as loud as he can... no real meaning, but it was kind of funny... where I should of been a little bugged by the whole thing, I couldn't keep from laughing... It's unfortunate, but for some reason people got major beef with cyclists on the road out here. I imagine it's mainly because there aren't many cyclists out here, so first off you don't have many cyclists driving on the roads out here and people see cyclists as more of an inconveniance than something that they just need to tolerate... When you get down to it, there's no real excuse to justify clipping a cyclist or running them off the road, someone could get hurt... and what do you say when that happens? oh well, hopefully this kind of stuff will diminish before someone gets hurt... After dealing with more animosity than I've ever had in one day on the bike this last easter sunday, I can't help but vent a little bit...
