That time of year again...

Yes indeed, it is that time to rediscover that deep, dark cave of pain and suffering again. Bike racing is about pushing through the hurt and embracing it... I know I am good when every muscle in the body feels like there is battery acid pulsing through the veins and I can still stay relaxed and smooth. Still got a ways to go till I'm there, but the Lactic Threshold training that trains the body to do that has begun and the legs are letting me know they're not real happy with that... With about two weeks till the first race of the season, I am looking forward to actually getting in a race and doing the hard riding in the race where you don't think about it so much. It seems when training alone, it is that much harder to make yourself hurt but when you can get that down and learn to hurt on your own, it makes the races seem like cake. When you're caught up in the race and have a job to do, it's easy to block out the pain and put all your focus on getting the job done...

It's also that time to start another semester of school... I have some cool classes this semester that apply directly to my interest in coaching... I am also working together with a friend on putting together a coaching business that should be up and running here soon. With both of us understanding the financial burden of having a coach, we are trying to put together some very inexpensive training programs for the entry level racer or hobbyist.
