Sweet Home California...

So, I was checking out Erik's site and he's got a picture of his face encrusted with salt after getting back from a long ride under the hot sun of twenty nine palms... I thought, I haven't had a ride where I have sweated that much since I have been here... I realize how much I miss the sun and the warmth of California... The rides and races I have done here in bad weather conditions outnumber those I have done in nice weather... To be honest I can count how many races I did in the rain in California on one hand... no wait, one finger... We started here with rain, hale, snow, and awesome cross winds... At the start of the year we did a race with rain, hale, and some insane cross winds... The motorcycle pacing our group ended up blown into a ditch on the side of the road... that was knarly... a few weeks later we did another race that started in the snow, which eventually turned to hail... To go from racing cat.3 and wondering if I'm going to race if it's raining, to racing here where you race hurricane or shine has been surreal... I look back and think, dude! what's a little rain, it's not like you're gonna melt... I still look forward to the good weather though... there are beggining to be more and more nice days, things are looking good...
