so maybe I don't suck... maybe...
I spent most of today running to doctors offices and sitting in waiting rooms (which by the way were void of any sort of waiting system known to man... I stopped counting after a while, but I think I got cut by 4 or 5 older ladies... I mean, what am I gonna say... I'm just there to get some blood test results explained to me, while these ladies may have a real problem... so, it wasn't really that big of a deal, I just sat there for an extra 2 hours...) I finally got in and it didn't take more than 5 minutes for the doc to tell me I was basically recovering from Epstein Barr... I seem to be well into recovering. I haven't had any serious symptoms for several months, just aching muscles and until about a month and a half ago extreme tiredness. I kept putting off getting a blood test (I really dislike needles)... so I was riding real bad (still not great) and just thinking "dude! you suck! get into gear..." Then I just felt blah on top of that and couldn't get to sleep at night and yet couldn't wake up in the morning... This all started about 4 to 5 months ago. At first I just had a cold but it grew into a viral infection... I don't have anyone to blame but myself, that's what happens when you try to ride through a cold in bad weather... so, yea... I didn't figure all this out till now after having the blood test... it's good to know why I was riding like I had never raced a bike in my life... I still couldn't win a sprint to a toddler on a trike, anytime I need to put out any real power, I can't... I feel like I can ride distance and tempo just fine outside of still having some achiness (did I make that word up?) in the muscles... with a little rest, I hope to be good to go for Tour de Tucson in october, time will tell...
