This is how it is...
I'm gonna say something I've thought for a while... it's how it is, and I'm not going to sugar coat it... I could care less how many years some of these guys, who think they know everything, have been racing or riding... Whether it be longer than I've been alive or not... I've met tons of old guys who are too proud to recognize where they messed up to actually not make the same mistake again... so, they end up making the same mistakes over and over and never really get any better, years riding means nothing to me... first step to improving: realize your mistakes and don't make them again... I'm tired of getting the "I've been racing for so&so years, I know what I'm doing"... I've watched time after time the guys at the back of the pack at Rose Bowl dice it out among the runners to sprint for 90th place... I've even seen a kid get taken out by these guys and have to be taken via ambulance to the hospital... what is ironic is that it's these same guys causing these accidents that get the attitude and try to harass you for no apparent reason other than to show dominance... drop the Napoleon complex, I'm tired of hearing it... oh yea, serious bike racers tend to joke around about stupid stuff... it's almost therapeutic, try spending a whole season on the road or living with a bunch of guys with egos... sometimes the best way to deal with eachother is to joke around and play stupid pranks... I remember finding my bike in the shower one day, all kinds of stupid stuff like this transpires in team situations and it's all in good fun... It takes someone who has been in that situation to fully understand...
