Mavic introducing new wheel...

Mavic's introducing it's new R-SYS wheelset featuring their new Tracomp technology (or carbon spokes). Remind you of the old Sinergy Spox?

Apparently they use a hollow carbon spoke, which is supposed to make the wheel a little more complient yet add to lateral rigidity. Take a look at their chart which gives the results of their tension test.

The lines begin to level off at the point the spokes begin to lose tension, you can see that doesn't seem to happen on the Tracomp wheel. Another plus, these things are 10% lighter than the current Ksyrium ES wheels out on the market today (didn't think they could do that). The wheels will only set you back about $1400, so I won't be getting those anytime soon... If your rough on wheels and are looking for a good set of wheels to run, this sounds like the ticket. Mavic built a great wheel when they came out with the Ksyrium and I'm sure if Mavic can do it once (or twice) they can do it again.
