I was reading the Bicycling October issue and I always scope out style mans column... This time someone asked Style Man whether Crocs are cool or uncool postride footwear... I have always thought they were kind of lame and clumsy looking... If I was going to try to appear to have some style, I think I would show up in some Steve Madden shoes trimmed with snake or crocodile skin or both and my cheap designer knock off jeans with matching collard slim fit shirt and at least make an attempt at looking refined and tasteful... anyways here is Style Mans reply...What you want to know is, Are those ubiquitous, brightly colored Australian inspired shoes more Robbie McEwen or more Bloomin Onion? Sadly typical. Very few of the people who write to me actually formulate the correct question. You will never find your way to even the weakest beginnings of an authentic personal style until you ask yourself why you imagine you need postride shoes. Look, Seth (poor subject of Style Mans aggression), it is simple. Unless you are lounging in the back of the team van sipping espresso and casually mulling the days categorized climbs, you should ride to the ride.
