First UCI race...

So I guess I was mistaken about last weekend, it was not an interclub... just a longer Kermesse... Although, this weekend I will be doing a UCI race, a UCI1.2... It's going to be about 180k (roughly 110 miles) with about 10K of it on cobbles. I will be racing with the national team which should be cool. Tonight I cruise over to their house to get clothes and fitted on a bike... This is going to be a pretty tough race. Winning a UCI 1.2 is a very good result, so the best teams in the region will be going with their best riders. I think my goal is just going to be to finish... and that would be super awesome if I could do that. I remember doing a few of those in France and the races shattered in the first 10k leaving 170k of riding in a small group with not much shelter from the wind. With those pave sections, it is going to be a constant battle for positioning as well... It will be a great learing experience...
